Best of the Best Florida Showcase Recap – 2021 Invitational Division

Loads of talent gathered at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL for the 4th Annual Best of the Best Showcase. The BOFTB showcase has become the premier middle school showcase of Florida pulling the top players from all over the state. Let’s get to know a few of the top 2021 Florida basketball prospects.

Jordan Shorter

Jordan Shorter is a 6”3” Guard out of Westwood Christian. Jordan is a long crafty wing who threw down a few dunks in transition. He got to the basket smoothly while being able to dish off a nice pass if needed. Jordan was in our top 3 players of the showcase, so we are looking forward to seeing how he grows. There aren’t many his age with his size and ability, the kid has a huge upside.

6’3” OT Delancy is becoming a common top performer on the FL circuit and he continued his high level of play. OT is a solid wing with huge potential. Ran the floor efficiently and blended with his team well, you can tell he is a real game type of player. Can’t wait to see how he grows this season.

Standing 6’0 Austin Lewis is a strong guard/forward with a smooth jump shot. Austin ran the court well and played with a chip on his shoulder. Excellent footwork and looks as comfortable away from the basket as he does inside. We have been watching Austin for a few years and it looks like he’s is making a smooth transition further from the basket. With continued hard work Austin will stay one of the top players in the Florida 2021 class.

Charles Crews was another standout at the showcase. He’s a true PG who can run a team efficiently. High motor type of player than you look for in a PG. We look forward to seeing him on the travel circuit this year.

Michael James is a 6’”4 wing who runs the floor extremely well. With his size and athletic ability, the sky is the limit for this student athlete! As he improves his movement around the perimeter he will be one of the top wings in the region for the next few years.

Tyrell Grey

Kanye ones also had a good performance showing his ability to run a team from the PG position. Nice height for a PG his age and a good feel for the game will make him a very effective player.

Camron Easily is another name to watch. Standing 6’6” with great mobility you can see him turning into a 3 or stretch 4 over the next few years. For now, he runs the floor well and should dominate inside. We look forward to seeing him this year with the Orlando Jayhawks!

Tyrell Grey is a little guard out of Tampa, FL who is a pure lights out shooter. Great defensive intensity and knows how to play the game. Tyrell is on the shorter side, but that didn’t stop him from penetrating the defense and finding an open man.

Justin Hicks is a 5’10” PG out of Impact Christian. Great feel for the game and easy stroke from the outside. Justin led his team defensively throughout the showcase with his intensity.  Great all-around game, looking forward to continued growth!

Jason Simpson was another guard who impressed, he is a crafty PG with a nice handle. As he gets stronger his game will grow into a complete package, but he was able to use his craftiness to get where he wanted on the court.

Michael James out of Change of Lakes MS is another player to watch. He has a high motor with nice size standing 6’4” and with continued improvement will become a player to watch.
